Q. How do I transfer a Domain Name?

A. Step 1. Inform your current domain name Registrar and ask them to unlock your domain. Usually domains are kept locked to prevent unauthorized transfers.

If you don't remember who is your registrar go to our domains search page and search your domain name, you will find the name of the registrar displayed on this page with a contact e-mail.

Step 2. Let us know your intention to transfer your domain to our service. E-mail Customer Service at support@artec.net and We will "park" it for you.

You will be given a user name and password to manage your domain. In the event that you need to change your nameservers or personal information use these URLS:

Q. How do I transfer my Web site?

A. Select a hosting package you like in our hosting page. Click Order now and follow the instructions. You will be given the choice to also transfer your domain but, if you prefer to self-manage your domain name, then change your nameservers to:

Pay for a full year and you get 6 months FREE hosting.


Q. Do we have Microsoft FrontPage server extensions?

A. ARTEC Interactive Inc. understands that many people use Microsoft FrontPage, so we do offer extensions for free so that your site doesn't have any problems.


How Much Does It Cost?

A. Our hosting prices are listed in our hosting page. When you pay for a full year you get 10% off. Most services charge a setup fee. Take note special offers can't be combined with a 10% discount when paying annually.

ARTEC Interactive Inc. does not charge setup fees, upgrade fees or downgrade fees.


Q. Minimum Contract and Guarantee?

A. You have a 30 day money back guarantee. There are no contracts to sign. You can choose to pay monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually.


Q. How Much are Upgrades?

A. As your Web site grows, so will your hosting needs. Check to see how much it'll cost you to add more disk space, transfer more data, create more e-mail accounts, and so on. Some companies also charge a fee for downgrading your package.

ARTEC Interactive Inc. doesn't charge upgrade fees or downgrade fees to our clients.


Q. How Much to Host Multiple Domain Names?

A. If you have more than one domain name, you can have them all point to the same Web site. This method is called 'redirecting ' a domain. For instance, you might have one domain name for your company and other domain names that you are using to promote specific products. There are different ways to handle this.

All the domains can point to the same directory, or you can have separate directories for each domain. The basic package can host only one domain. For the other packages check the package features here. The price per redirection is $5.00 per domain.


Q. Is there a Charge for E-Mail Accounts?

A. You'll generally get a e-mail account with your Web hosting package. Email (only) packages are available. Click here to details

Each account also comes with Webmail. What is Webmail? Webmail is used when you are not at your desk or perhaps even in another country. You can access your email right from any web browser.


Q. Do You Have Mail Responders?

A. A mail responder, or autoresponder, is a program that automatically responds to incoming mail. For instance, if someone sends e-mail to info@yoursite.com, an informational message can be sent back.

ARTEC Interactive Inc. offers this service for free with all accounts.


Q. Do I Get FTP Access?

A. You'll need FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access. This allows you to transfer files to and from your Web site, so virtually all companies provide this service. Some hosting companies may provide a different way to transfer files, such as using FrontPage. But even if you use FrontPage, it's nice to have FTP access too.

ARTEC Interactive Inc. offers FTP access either through your File Manager via your Control Panel or FTP programs.


Q. Can I Use CGI Scripts?

A. Some hosting companies don't allow CGI, and others charge more for you to use them.

ARTEC Interactive Inc. hosting account comes with the ability to use CGI scripts. We also offer free scripts to our clients to help them create a better web site.


Q. Do I Get Site Statistics?

A.Site Stats show you information about visitors to your site. You need this information, as it can show you where visitors are coming from, when they arrive, which pages they view, and so on. We use Webalizer it come free with every package.


Q. Can I Have Password-Protected Pages?

A. If you need to set up a private area at your Web site, some companies will help you create password-protected areas. You can easily create these with our control panel.


Q. Do You Have Telephone Technical Support?

A. Yes, you can actually call and talk with someone! We have a toll free number for this purpose. A friendly reliable and helpful person will help you.
